The MLA is constantly keeping our members informed with current issues in Muskoka. Responsible development, responsive government and decisions and activities of municipal governments and how they may impact our members, are of our highest concern.

We monitor and identify land use activities, especially those that have precedent setting implications.

Welcome to the November Edition of NewsBites

Volunteers continue to work tirelessly even through the fall, advocating on key issues important to people who live, work on and enjoy the Muskoka lakes. Some of these issues include budgets input, development, progress on the Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw for Muskoka Lakes and following the MAHC hospital developments on our website.

MLA Shorelines - Fall 2024

In this edition of Shorelines, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our retiring board members for their dedication and service, while warmly welcoming our new members to the board. This issue features an important article on harmful algal blooms, exploring what they are, and their impact on our environment. We also proudly recognize the recipient of this year's Doug Cross Award, celebrating their outstanding contributions to our community as well as highlight novelist Lori Knowles, who discusses her debut novel, Summer with Miss Elizabeth.
